I am a first year PGDM student in T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal and I aspire to be a virtuoso in advertising. Being from the technical background, I had a very little knowledge about the different aspects involved in marketing of a product. Having realized this, I did some research only to find out that social media is the new cool and what we use use for just posting photos and updating statuses is a huge potential platform for advertising a product. This was the easy part, what was difficult was to find a dais to learn all the tactics involved.
After researching even more, I found many websites offering courses on digital marketing, social media marketing etc. However, I thought of 2 reasons of not opting them, first, they were paid, second, it was all theory and advertising is what one can learn only by doing. So I made up my mind for the other alternative – An INTERNSHIP !! Though this was not so easy part, the toughest part was to find an internship.
Fortunately, I found releaseMyAd, India’s largest advertising platform. And guess what, they offer virtual internship which could be pursued even through an android app.
I registered for the upcoming batch for the internship. After a short form, some questions and a telephonic interview I got selected for the internship. The best part was, I was undergoing this whole procedure through my smartphone.
Now all set to jump into the world of marketing I eagerly waited for 15th August, the day my internship started. There were so many tasks along with the lessons and tools required to complete those tasks were lined up in my dashboard. The tasks were broadly categorized as social media marketing, search engine optimization, market research, B2B marketing, content writing, brand promotion and lot more. The tasks included a broad range of techniques, formats and other platforms which are prevalent in marketing these days. Though initially, I found it difficult to cope up with some tasks at the end of the day it was all fun. In case my submissions did not match the standards, I was asked to improve and resubmit the tasks.
Till now, I have completed 18 tasks successfully and there are many more to go. I have moved up my way to become a brand ambassador starting from a brand executive. One thing that I realize is the internapp has changed the way I looked at internships and certainly broadened my perspective about advertising.
Concluding, if anyone of the marketing and advertising enthusiasts is looking for an internship with phenomenal learning experience, the internapp is the destination. Join today at http://intern.releasemyad.com/
